Seminars Coming Up
As we
count down the days to our Christmas
celebrations and our holiday breaks
lets think of the values that we
should be reviewing from our
successes during 2005 and perhaps
setting ourselves new objectives for
2006.
2005 has
been a pretty good year for most of
the members of the GEEWIZZ world
with many businesses reporting good
growth years, new products released,
new services added, new targets and
objectives achieved and perhaps a
little bit of a strain from staff
shortages, skilled staff
development, and the pressures of
work of keeping everything going
within a challenging and economic
year.
Perhaps
the hardest of all is to understand
why the economist_s appear to be out
in their predictions as to what is
actually happening in the business
world, maybe we all know something
they don_t.
CHRISTMAS GIFTS
The
Christmas gift season coming up just
make sure that all those gifts that
you are taking out have your company
logo and website and contact details
firmly attached to them or branded
on them and that you have made
certain that you are giving your
gifts to the right client mix, that
is clients that have grown their
business with you, clients who have
given you referrals, clients who
have built their relationships, and
clients who are deserving of
recognition for the good business
opportunities that you have taken
up.
Don_t
just pull out last years list and
send it anyway.
Another
alternative of course is to do a
welcome back to work in January
which will be far more effective
working with your clients as it
focuses them on the new calendar
year ahead.
Don_t
over look your key staff, support
people, and members of your team who
have worked so hard to contribute to
your success this year and also some
of those key suppliers who are
deserving of some recognition.
Of
Course that recognition can take
many forms even a simple email thank
you, a blue mountain. com thanks
cards, are all just as effective and
successful as that gift bottle of
wine beer food or product gift.
Also a
thought to think about is after you
have completed your face to face
deliveries of your gifts, none of
this sending it on a courier, make a
list of the way that you were
received to help determine next
years gift range.
HOLIDAYS
To many
of us we are going to be able to
take time to be able to enjoy a
holiday break over the Christmas /
New Year period, and this should be
a time to recharge our batteries.
In to
days easy access world of email,
texting and much more, yes we will
be in contact because that_s what
the world is about now, but lets
make sure that we only answer at
specific times, we allow our selves
to advise people that we will deal
to that after we have completed our
break, and we try and build on the
relationships within our families
and partners over this time.
Don_t
forget to recharge and do something
different, perhaps it is exploring
the beach or perhaps it is walking
in the bush, perhaps it is
challenging yourself with
windsurfing or mountaineering or
anything else that is reasonably
safe, but it is about this break
should be focused on resetting the
brain, and refreshing you for the
challenges of 2006.
A break
can be just as relaxing around the
garden at home, perhaps in your own
neighbourhood and your community
reintroducing your self to your
neighbours as well as going on a
holiday destination.
The
greatest challenge is in the first 3
days of your break is to actually do
nothing, read a book, snooze, sleep,
and let the body unwind from the
daily stresses of your business
lives, once you have achieved that
after the first 3 days you can
tackle the world in as many ways as
that you can find useful.
Perhaps
take time out to read that business
book, listen to that CD, or perhaps
focus on some background reading of
magazines and articles, or even
search the web for some stimulating
challenging information.
The Challenge _ As a member
of the GEEWIZ network I invite you
to raise a toast in a glass of
anything that you enjoy on New Years
Eve to celebrate success for 2006
and I will wish you well at the same
time.
A big
welcome to all of the new members of
GEEWIZ from Birmingham U.K. as they
move into their White Winter
Christmas and keeping warm and of
course have a much shorter break
around Christmas time than us in the
Southern Hemisphere, and to my
Malaysian contacts I will be back up
to see you in February, and to my
Australian contacts see you in
January.
Welcome to some new contacts within
